A note from our editors:

We know how to throw a good party. Ever since we were in college, we’ve been throwing high-concept, themed soirees that have attracted crowds of tens. While the group might be small, everyone in attendance begs for an invite to the next one as they leave.

When you come to our house, you’ll find themed craft cocktails, homemade food, custom scents and lighting, thoughtful discussion about culture, and crass conversations about bodily fluids. We take ourselves seriously, but that includes being serious about sticking to the bit. Slag Magazine is our way of bringing the party to you.

In print and on this website, you’ll find discussions of Los Angeles events, pop culture phenomena, recipes, and meditations on the highs and lows of being a young artist in a city saturated with dreamers.

Some may say print journalism is “dead” or at least “unpredictable,” but we’re not here to start a business or to go viral. We’re interested in creating a platform for us and our peers.
